Paris: Top Things To Do

Home to hundreds of cafes, dozens of parks and several UNESCO World Heritage Listed Sites, there are no shortage of things to do in Paris. Whether you’re a foodie, a history lover or just want to immerse yourself in the culture, check out some of our must-do recommendations while visiting the city.

Notre Dame

First opened in 1345, the Notre Dame is one of Paris’ oldest and most iconic tourist attractions. Loved for its high roof, stained glass windows and iconic spire, the Notre Dame attracts millions of tourists each year, walking around and inside the Cathedral to marvel at the architectural beauty. The building was badly damaged in a fire in 2019 and is not currently open to the public – officials expect it to open again in late 2024.

Eiffel Tower

By far the most famous tourist attraction in Paris, no trip to the City of Love would be complete without visiting the Eiffel Tower. Right on the banks of the River Siene and surrounded by parklands, walk around the base of the Tower and marvel at its size (and snap the compulsory ‘holding up the tower’ photo), or book in for the Eiffel Tower Climb and experience Paris from the air as you climb 674 steps to the top.

Jardin de Tuileries

More than just home to dozens of incredible works of architecture, Paris also boasts dozens of beautiful, sprawling gardens – one of which is the Jarden de Tuileries. Made up of 28 hectares of manicured gardens and located between the Louvre and Place de Concorde, spend the day walking around enjoying the sunshine and scenery, or grab a coffee from a nearby cafe and set up a picnic on the manicured lawns with the other Parisians.

Frogs Legs, foie gras, escargot, pasta and pastries – French cuisine is varied and bountiful, and there are no shortage of cafes and restaurants boasting mouth-watering dishes for you to sample. While there will be somewhere delicious on every street corner, here are a few of our top recommendations:

Cafe de Flore

A favourite among the Parisian elite, Cafe de Flore is one of the most popular cafes in Paris and well worth a visit if you’re in the area. Famous for its coffee and croissants, it’s best to visit in the early morning or late afternoon to beat the crowds and witness the ebb and flow of Parisian life.

Early June

Want to dine somewhere a little bit different, and a little more unique? A favourite among traveling chefs, Early June Wine Bar is a must-visit if you’re looking for something that’s as one-of-a-kind as it is indulgent. With a relaxed ambiance, an extensive wine selection, and a menu that changes regularly thanks to the rotating guest chefs, this spot promises an evening of casual dining and wine tasting.
